Assembly Speaker Pro Tem Isadore Hall, III's godmother, Gladys M. Lindsey, affectionately known as “Madea,” passed away on Nov. 19, 2010. Mrs. Lindsey was a resident of the beautiful city of Compton for more than 50 years. Her precious memory will be cherished by her children, Lois Wilkey, secretary for the superintendent of the Compton Unified School District; Martha Quinn (Gregory), Human Resources operations manager, CUSD; Lucy Walker, scheduler of the State of California Assembly District 52; Joseph Lindsey, Jr.; Carlton Lindsey (Delores); sisters Edna Boudreaux and Fannie Taylor; brother Edward Mitchell (Mary); and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
