Los Angeles Black Pride calls for volunteers

LOS ANGELES—Los Angeles Black Pride (LABP) is seeking volunteers to help plan its 23rd Annual Black Gay Pride celebration, scheduled for June 30 through July 4.

The event is one of the nation’s largest Black lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender pride celebrations, and includes a beach party in Malibu on July 2.

Youth, women, and seniors are especially encouraged to apply.

Volunteer applications can be submitted online at myblackpridela.com/volunteer or by calling 323-285-4225.

LABP’s 2011 Planning Committee holds meetings bi-weekly on Saturdays at 10 a.m. at the Nate Holden Performing Arts Center, 4718 W. Washington Blvd., Los Angeles. For more information, log on to www.myblackpridela.com or email volunteer@myblackpridela.com.
