Model Airplane Expo
The Experimental Aircraft Association will stage a Fly In and Model Expo at Compton Airport, 1017 W. Alondra Blvd. on Sunday, Aug. 8 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Remote controlled aircraft of all sizes will fly all day. Kids can compete to fly one. The event starts with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. For more info call 310-605-7977.
Free Helicopter Flights at TAM
Friday Night Flights will be held every other Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Tomorrow's Aeronautical Museum, 961 West Alondra Blvd. The next one will be on Aug. 12. Free beverages and snacks and a chance to check out the museum’s new flight simulators. Free flights are available.
Women’s Day Celebration
The women of First United Methodist Church and the Rev. Christopher Carter will host the annual Women’s Day Celebration at 3 p.m. on Sept. 25. The event is open to the public. The church is located at 1025 Long Beach Blvd.
Catholic School Reunion
A reunion gala for Catholic schools in Southern California is planned for Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Kyoto Grand Hotel and Gardens, 120 S. Los Angeles St., from 5 p.m. to midnight. The organizing committee is seeking classmates from classes of 1970 through 1989 from the Compton area. See the So. Ca. Catholic School Reunion Committee Class of 1970-1989 Facebook page. Tickets are on sale now.
Weekly book club

Monthly Block Club Commission Meetings
