Black Parent Union Meeting
There will be a Black Parent Union (BPU) meeting on Saturday, May 26, at noon at Faith Inspirational Church, 357 E. Palmer St. The church is located next to the VFW Post, and across the street from Wilson Park. Parking lot is behind the church building. This month's agenda will include activities and resources for the summer. BPU serves parents throughout Los Angeles County. For more information call 310-720-2798.
Men’s Day at First Methodist
The United Methodist Men of First United Methodist Church will hold its annual Men’s Day during the 10 a.m. worship service on May 27. Roosevelt Middle School Principal Christopher Calvin will be the guest speaker. The church is located at 1025 S. Long Beach Blvd. The public is welcome to attend.
Citywide Yard Sale
Residents of Compton can participate in the city’s first annual yard sale on June 2. Cost is $10, which includes permit, listing of your address and a few of the items you will be selling. Concerned Citizens of Compton Meeting
The Concerned Citizens of Compton Inc. meets on the first and third Saturday of each month except July and August at 5 p.m. at St. Philip Lutheran Church, 1110 North Dwight Ave. For more information contact Marie Hollis, president of the group, at 310- 632-6291. The next meeting is on June 2.
Monthly Block Club Commission Meetings
